Hello 8th Graders!
For this unit, everything we do will be online. And I mean, everything. You will be creating a blog, just like I did! We will work through the steps together and figure it all out.
Once you have created your website, let me know what your domain is. Your domain will be whatever I have to type into the URL bar in order to find your website. For example, my domain is bilodeauhistory.weebly.com and yours will be in a similar format. Let me know what it is so that I can grade your website.
Throughout the unit, we will be making lots of edits to our blogs. Most days, I will have a warm-up that I post on my blog and display on the screen. You will answer this warm-up as a post on your main page of your blog. Make sure you date it so I know what you’re talking about!
We will also be creating new pages to add along to our blog. Pages are different than the main blog page, in that it displays information rather than listing blog posts. On the pages, we will list different information that we’ve learned about the Civil War, as we learn and discuss it along the way. We will add quotes, videos, charts, whatever we want or need to show full understanding of the information.
I’m very excited about this unit. We are going to be learning a lot about history, but also a lot about technology too. We might have some bumps along the way but we’ll figure it out, learning all the while.
Enjoy!
